The Skakavac Waterfall is 98 meters hight and is one of the highest waterfalls in the Balkans.
It is located 12 km for the Sarajevo center, above Nahorevo village. Although it doesn't have large flow, it is known for having extraordinary scenery. especially in the wintertime, its falls being frozen and forming a fantastic view.
The surrounding area has high biodiversity value, and many endemic and relict species grow on the rock terraces of this waterfall. This area is the most abundant with spruce-fir and beech-fir forests, while thermopilous forests, as well as hornbeam shrubs. autumn moor grass and black ash trees grow near the waterfall.
This area has excellent conditions for hiking, biking and different types of extreme sports.
